Life at 26

Well, I started this blog when I turned 25. I wanted to change my life and I still do. Now that I am 26, I really do want to try to use this blog to track changes with everything from finances, health to travel, relationships, etc.

As you know I track the year by my birthday instead of the new year in terms of resolutions... but to you all, Happy New Year and best wishes with changes you want to make in your lives.

Drive thru is a thing of the past.

Starting Sept 1, I gave up all drive-thru as a way of eating better and spending less. I am not going to lie, I still eat fast food, but I take the extra 5 or 10 minutes to walk in, get in line and wait it out.

Taking the convenience out of drive-thru has led me to just walk in the grocery store and pick up something better (tasting and for me) instead, because I know the time will be the same now. I think also taking those extra few minutes I don't compulsively buy extra food like I always do while staring at the board out my car window trying to figure out just what I want. It also cuts out those runs at 12am when you think you just have to have something. And I am saving money!!!

So, I started just for the month of Sept and stuck to it. My friends sometimes look at me like why do we need to walk in as if I am crazy, but hey it works for me. So what if I walked into Whataburger or McD's.... no drive-thru. And that was and is the goal! I have decided to keep it going for the month of Oct. and hopefully much longer. I am losing weight, exercising more because I feel better, and saving a little money for the times I want to dine out and have a nice meal.

So, if you are looking to make some small, simple changes in your routine or diet. Try this. It really does work.

Saying goodbye to soda!

So, I decided to start a healthier routine for myself and part of that was giving up sodas and turning to water.

Sorry, I couldn't just find a day counter. This one counts minutes and hours. Whatever. Whenever I cave, I will change the counter obviously.
